Bio
Cortnie Beatty is a costume designer and technician. Raised in Arizona, she is now based in Orlando, FL but continues to design all over - with a particular design base in Boston, MA. Her most recent credits include CLUE: On Stage at Wheelock Family Theatre, State Fair with the Pierce Players in Milton, MA, and Save the Whales at Boston Playwrights' Theatre.

Cortnie got her undergraduate degree in theatre arts at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. While there, she learned to focus on all areas of costume creation - designing, facilitating creation, and the construction itself. She is a firm believer that having an intimate knowledge of all the stages a costume idea goes through helps to make her the best designer possible.

After leaving BYU, Cortnie was hired by Disney Parks and Resorts. She started as the Costume Workroom Intern in 2017, and went on to be a key member of the team responsible for making and maintaining the costumes for the audio animatronics within the theme parks.

In pushing herself to new limits, Cortnie entered Boston University in Massachusetts to earn a Master's of Fine Arts in Costume Design. Her valuable time there allowed her to train with some of the most distinguished theatre costume designers in the country.

Cortnie has taught undergraduate and graduate level courses for the past three years, in addition to designing. Her course load has included classes in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Costume Design, and Beginning Methods of Costume Construction.
